At a residence in a historic district of Nassau County
we wanted the front facade and entry to suit the distinction
of the home. A rock bollard in the foreground was designed
to match the front door. original rock at the large
old boxwood were used in conjunction with everblooming
carpet rose skirting the facade.
The boxwood are punctuated with a few dwarf conifers
and one saucer magnolia. Often in a historic home I
try to use "old fashioned" species to authenticate
the age of the design and give the property a sense
of history.
Random pattern blue-stone edged in cobble stone was
used for the entry walk. You can feel yourself being
drawn to the door along a rose bordered path way. |
